changes in lumbar lordosis during the prone knee-flexion test in healthy subjects

چکیده
conclusions an increased lumbar lordosis during the prone knee-flexion test is due to instability in a lumbar spine region. results results demonstrated that there was a statistically significant difference in lumbar lordosis in prone position and after performing the prone knee-flexion test among healthy subjects (p < 0.0001). patients and methods this quasi-experimental study with repeated measurements was performed on 40 healthy subjects. lumbar lordosis was measured with a standard flexible ruler first in prone position and then, after performing the prone knee-flexion test. the amount of change in lumber lordosis between the two measurements was recorded. data were analyzed using paired t-test. background recently, researchers evaluate disorders of the lumbo-pelvic region such as low back pain through assessment of movement patterns with various clinical tests. prone knee-flexion is one of the most common tests, which are used. objectives the purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in lumbar lordosis during the prone knee-flexion test in healthy subjects.

Change in lumbar lordosis during prone lying knee flexion test in subjects with and without low back pain
BACKGROUND Prone lying knee flexion (PLKF) is one of the clinical tests used for assessment of the lumbo-pelvic movement pattern. Considerable increase in lumbar lordosis during this test has been considered as impairment of movement patterns in lumbar-pelvic region. However, no study has directly evaluated the change in lordosis during active PLKF test in subjects with low back pain (LBP). The...
متن کاملLumbar lordosis in prone position and prone hip extension test: comparison between subjects with and without low back pain
BACKGROUND Prone hip extension (PHE) is a common and widely accepted test used for assessment of the lumbo-pelvic movement pattern. Considerable increased in lumbar lordosis during this test has been considered as impairment of movement patterns in lumbo-pelvic region. The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of lumbar lordosis in PHE test in subjects with and without low back pa...
متن کاملReliability of Measuring Lumbar Lordosis, Flexion and Extension Using Dual Inclinometer in Healthy Subjects and Patients with Non-Specific Chronic Low Back Pain
Objective: Accurate assessment of lumbar range of motion is of great value for both evaluating lumbar functions and monitoring treatment progress. Recent research indicates that there is no general consensus on the most valid and reliable method of measuring spinal range of motion. The purpose of this study was to determine the intra-rater reliability of lumbar flexion and extension measurement...
متن کاملLumbar Lordosis of Spinal Stenosis Patients during Intraoperative Prone Positioning.
BACKGROUND To evaluate the effect of spondylolisthesis on lumbar lordosis on the OSI (Jackson; Orthopaedic Systems Inc.) frame. Restoration of lumbar lordosis is important for maintaining sagittal balance. Physiologic lumbar lordosis has to be gained by intraoperative prone positioning with a hip extension and posterior instrumentation technique. There are some debates about changing lumbar lor...
متن کاملComparison of the kinematic pattern of knee joint flexion in healthy and genu Valgum and genu Varum children during jumping
Introduction & Objectives: genu valgum and genu varum are considered as the most common abnormalities of the knee joint in the lower extremity. Identifying of the mentioned abnormalities in the early stages of life can prevent the occurrence of later problems in the physical condition of a person's life. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to compare the kinematic pattern of knee joint ...
متن کاملIn Vivo Healthy Knee Kinematics during Dynamic Full Flexion
Healthy knee kinematics during dynamic full flexion were evaluated using 3D-to-2D model registration techniques. Continuous knee motions were recorded during full flexion in a lunge from 85° to 150°. Medial and lateral tibiofemoral contacts and femoral internal-external and varus-valgus rotations were analyzed as a function of knee flexion angle. The medial tibiofemoral contact translated anter...
